Help. Seriously.

Okay folks. After a week of sitting on my butt continuously and staring at the computer and eating while at the computer, kidding onself that one needed to fuel the brain in order to be able to function at peak optimum required brain level and doing this from morning to well past midnight, I now discover I have a butt that stretches from here to eternity.

Quick fix tips required, diet wise. Exercise I am awful at, never take time out to do, though I can climb up and down the 20 storeys in my building a couple of times a day, and try to do so. What do I do to whittle down the waist and butt pronto? I have some public appearances at function type thingies where I want people to ooh and aah and say lovely things like “You look just the same!!!!” With multiple exclamination marks and such like. Let the advice pour in.

  1. Suggestions:
    1. Munch on a salad – cucumbers, grapes, carrot sticks, spring onion bulbs, tomato, capsicum, boiled mushrooms and babycorn, celery… (and now I’m drooling even though it’s post-lunch 😛 ). Fills me up bigtime, in a healthy way.
    2. Stop eating at the computer. Dust and particles in keyboard and monitor is a REALLY bad thing. You’ll end up forking out thousands on the computer which can be spent on a gym membership instead! 😛 Also, paying attention to what you eat really makes sure you’re eating for the stomach and the body. I find I metabolize food better since I started paying attention to what I ate.
    3. Oh yeah – and try to stomach breathe. It’s a workout for the ab muscles, gets oxygen into your lower lungs, speeds up metabolism, decongests the lungs, increases energy levels… a goldmine, with NO extra effort except the process of learning it. Stomach breathing is when your stomach and lower ribcage(floating ribs) inflates when you inhale, and deflates when you exhale. The chest stays still or moves very slightly. It’ll also relax you, and stop you from stress eating if you’re prone to that. Do try it, whether you need to lose weight or not!

Hope some of that helps you out!

  2. GM diet maybe??
    http://www.iimahd.ernet.in/~jajoo/gmdiet.html

Never tried it…it is supposed to be more of a detoxifying diet rather than a weight loss diet, you lose weight immediately..but of course put it on back pretty soon

The good thing about it is that you don’t starve..but eat ghaas phoos…which isnt a good thing and some wonder soup which you’re supposed to have as much as you want..

Not very appealing but at least its not the lemonade diet!!

But seriously I’m sure you look lovely why don’t you do it the gym / exercise way only?

yeah. GM diet is supposed to be a quick (but not so easy) way to lose those pounds. I know a couple of people who tried it & it worked. But I couldn’t survive beyond Day 2. Also, it’s not a long term loss. You will get those kilos back.

Get a personal trainer – it’s really helping me.

Also, I’ve seen you on TV (you rock star, you) and you are NOT fat. You look fine to me, but having people tell me this same thing, hasn’t helped me feel any thinner, so I’m guessing you’ll still want to shed a few kilos.

    Good luck.

Well, physical activity is sure the way to go. Accompanied by lighter diet. uth-bais and squats have always proven to tone down the butt and thigh muscles. Also walk a lot, as in briskly, till you sweat.
    Good luck.

Very short term? Wear spanx. Like if you wanna appear 5lb light by evening. I do not go anywhere in the evebing w.o my spanx. And sometimes also wear it to work. And if it makes you feel better, the hollywood types wear it too 🙂

For longterm, I second CeeKay. South Beach is awesome.

Spanx also has a a version in Target. You can by Spanks in Neimus.. I think even Nordstrom and Macy have em. But the Target ones are just as good. I don’t know where you can buy Spanx (or other bodyshapers) in India..

I don’t follow south beach to the dot.. I try and eat a big break fast, eat a lot of veggies. Have cut on caffeine. I have also switched to smaller sized glasses and cups.

Kiran, sorry for spamming your comment space; Clame CeeKay if you have to blame someone 🙂

Ceekay, dotmom, go right ahead, I am welcoming all the info I can get.

Suki: I hate anything raw, but shall make a start.

    Spandx will be hunted for.

Gym isnt possible folks, cause there is no one willing to babysit the brat for an hour and a half that I need to go.

I dump him in the sandpit and do one zillion rounds in the park as poor compensation.

Have also now stopped eating carbs as much as possible.

Personal trainer, alas. I wish I could have someone watch this fellow for an hour.

And am trying out South beach to start with. If that doesnt work then GM. And then a dietitican.

eight kgs need to go off to reach ideal weight. My time starts now.
